Mondays in Museums IX - Sagardoetxea, Basque Cider Museum


As we told in our previous post, 2012 cider season has just started on Monday 9th January and it will last until mid of April. A lot of 'sagardoetxe' or 'sidreria' will offer on this time their recently produced cider, directly from their huge barrels. 


Txotx is the traditional way to enjoy Basque cider, but what is the way to use your glass to get best "txinparta" (sparkling). 



Learn this and other aspects of the cider and the apples where it come from in Sagardoetxea Museum. The Basque Museum of Cider in Astigarraga, the village, close to San Sebastian with largest number of cider producing houses in the Basque Country.

It opens from Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 1:30pm and from 4pm to 7:30pm. On Sundays and bank holidays it opens only in the Mornings from 11am to 1:30pm
